Well, that dreaded day finally happened. - Yes, I crashed my Bug! - Not too bad, but totally my fault.  I started to pull out of an intersection "assuming" that the SUV in front of me had already gone.  I banged into his rear underside, and smashed in my hood. - I stopped by Maaco and showed them the damage. They felt I had a better chance of having the colors match if I had a new hood that they could paint.  - 

 
So I looked on "www.theSamba.com" and found someone only 15 miles away selling a hood.  Some dings here and there but in pretty good shape.  Here's the pic that was shown in the listing.

 
So I went ahead and bought it, stripped all the paint off of it, and then brought it over to my buddies at Maaco.
